Basman Prototype

After Basman won the COTY CC class in December 2004 with his Sled, we start to develop the production of the frame and the build-up together with Bas in 2005.
The prototype build-up of the Basman Classic, shown here on the Fietsrai 2006 (picture above). We used for this one of the "lucky seven" frames from the original serie, this build claimed 3rd spot in the TT class COTY 2005.

The first 346 Basman
After the arrival of the first series of Basman cruisers in 2006, questions and suggestions reached us. Would it be possible to build in a 3 or 7 speed? Also, the absence of a front fender seemed unworkable to some.
The Basman Deluxe version with Shimano 7 speed rollerbrake and front fender. The front fender makes the bike look even longer. Because of the wide rear fork, it is no problem to build a 7 speed hub in a Basman Classic cruiser.
For the finishing touch, chrome cables were used and the alloy grips were adjusted so that the grip shift could be nicely positioned. The frame of the original saddle was used to fit the black Chopperdome saddle.
The Deluxe version will be the basic model for the new series. It will be available as the 107SL February 2008.

In order to see whether intended plans worked in practice, we used DHL 80mm rims for the first model. The first experience with the Basman Pro Street was positive so we continued. This bike was shown at the Swedish bike show spring 2007.
The idea of the wide rims and fat tires was further developed and resulted in the Basman Tuschinski. The chain moves freely because of the 346 off set sprocket at the front and rear. This model will be available as the Basman 244 around summer 2008.
