346 Mayday Kustoms

The 346 AzzMan- With Quickspeed billet Iron cross wheels, QUAD rear disc brake, EL neon glow underneath the tube, triple tree fork, custom Firebikes iron cross pedals and working rear and front lights, so we don't get stopped while cruisin" into the night.
The frame is one of the first Firebike frames, before the mayday series excisted, with an extra long stretched low glide look. Some nice details as the iron cross dropouts and scull as rest for the seatpost finish the look and line. The new wheels for this bike arrived last week, means it will finally get the look I wanted. The Flame wheels went and were replaced by the wheels we have been waiting for nine months for, but the result was a bike that set a new standard. We are ready to show on "Stars on wheels".
March 2005
Now almost a year later and with a lot of display we found some time to take some pictures. Just before Stars on wheels the Iron Cross wheels arrived and a rear fender was added, matching grips and brown wall tires were put on the bike. In time for the FBI the bel was pinstriped in 3 brown tints and Firebikes Iron cross pedal were put on the bike round X-mas 2005.

The R1/2- When I met Sam at Interbike 2004 we discussed some frames he had done over the years. One of his frames by me revered to as the circus bike, not my favorite, the big circle in the frame makes it a great bike for circus act with dogs, and had a laugh. Sam took up the challenge to get me on a circus bike...and he succeeded. Just before the FBI 2005 the frame arrived and now half year later it has it's first build up. After the sunny days we had in January, it's back to the normal rainy shit as always this time of year. Fenders are needed, so a fender was mounted. Pinstriping by Vinz.

Azz Chopper- With the orange Azz chopper showing in the shop window we had dudes walking in asking about the price. So this answer this question....a complete build Firebike starts at about 950.00 euro. The one in the window, due to the work and saddle we had made was some more as the starting price, but we had another bike to build. So we made another seatpan and send this of to MS leather to have the leather seat made. The customers son's name should be in Chinese characters on the seat was the only demand. Don't known what to expect....so we were more than suprised when the saddle came back from MS leather. This lady knows here job.

As we are waiting for the Quickspeed flame wheels to arrive, we already started building the bike. A seatpost was made on the Azz chopper frame, so the seat could be mounted. And we created a fork out of several fork parts, using a Kona chopp stick and Electra double down. The rear fender follows the seatpost tube and on the back side the same lenght. And then the Quickspeed flames wheels arrived and we could finish the bike, done and next please :). Shit weather....
346 Azz Chopper- The Azz chopper frame is one the specials from the Mayday series. Sharp diamond tubing in metallic tangerine, with build on seat. The original idea was to build a real long and low dragster. We tried it and although it was cool enough...given the hangover, but we thought it could be done a little better. So, we chopped up a Kone BikeHotRod, gave ourselves a extra long fork and baddaboombaddabang, we were starting to really get somewhere. But as nothing comes easy, we had to make a fork out of two forks as we needed another size then the 1 1/8" the Kona fork came with.

Here you see the saddle. We wanted a real nice seat for this bike. And as there's no seat on the market we have to create something. A banana seat was needed, as we had to make a frame for the seat. This part finished it was time to send the seat frame to M.S Leather for a custom leather seat. And as we saw this bike is goanna rock we wanted nice hubs, rims and other parts on there aswell. So we put the Cane Creek S-2 headset into the frame and waited for the other parts to arrive. Oh, happy monday morning, the rims and hubs we ordered arrived on time, as want to have this bike ready for Stars on wheels, 9-10 april, Antwerpen. And we now have three days to build the bike, besides the other two bikes who goanna premiere at this show, so time to unpack.
To have front and rear disc brake we ordered a set Quad hubs and disc brakes, they came with the QAB-140, a mounting bracket which makes it possible to add a discbrake without having to weld a mount on the fork or frame. The fork we have already had a mount, so the one we needed was for the rear. As disc calipers the QMD-5 arrived, ready to stop 140 mm rear and 160 mm front disc rotors also from Quad. For the rims we had a look at Rigida rims in their downhill range, extra wide rims. So we get ourself the Rigida DH 30 24" for the rear and for the front also a DH 30, but then in 26". And then Thursday afternoon the seat arrived just in time for the show.
